Critic Makes Himself King

There is a hierarchy inherent to criticism built by the critic that makes himself king.

Social media makes kings and queens of all subjects – town criers and scribes of us all.. everyone is a philosopher.

We are all photographers taking photos of each other, were we not so busy taking photos of ourselves, for others who are in reality becoming more figurative, distant, and unrecognizable.

We scroll through a cacophonic interweaving of highly curated and amplified sound bites of lives that do not resemble their realities, and that in reality continue to atrophy under blue light. At the speed of sound. At the speed of light.

Kings and Queens we may be, but social media currency inflation keeps us all poor. Most poor people don’t even know to what extent they are poor.. They’d rather be paid in “likes”; yet, do not pay themselves first.
